Program Highlights:
Wat Tha Maprang – Cycling through Fruit Orchards – Aromatherapy Workshop
Itinerary:
09:30 AM –
Gather at Ban Tha Maprang Community, a new eco-tourism destination nestled in the forests of Pak Chong District. This community focuses on combating global warming through a “Local Low Carbon” approach and is the first community to apply carbon footprint measurement tools in community-based tourism. Guests will be welcomed with a refreshing herbal welcome drink.
10:00 AM –
Begin the eco-friendly, low-carbon trip with a guided cycling tour along nature trails. Along the way, enjoy the fresh air, beautiful mountains, lush trees, and warm smiles of the local people while learning about the community’s history and lifestyle.
The first stop is to pay respect to Luang Pho Yai, a traditional Isan-style plaster Buddha statue, uniquely hand-sculpted and housed in the old chapel of Wat Tha Maprang. This Buddha has been a spiritual center for villagers since their grandparents’ generation. Visit the historic Wat Tha Maprang, over 100 years old and a cherished community landmark. Then, admire the last remaining rice fields and take in the scenic view of Khao Luk Chang mountain.
Next, cycle through peaceful natural trails along Khao Yai, crossing streams and visiting fruit orchards. Sample fresh seasonal fruits while being embraced by nature’s beauty and clean air.
11:30 AM –
Enjoy a hands-on workshop making Makkaud (Kaffir Lime) Herbal Scented Balls using ingredients from local gardens. This activity supports reducing transportation and fuel energy use and produces chemical-free souvenirs to take home.
12:00 PM –
End of the program. Farewell and thank you for your participation.
